I'm associate Professor of "Mechanical and Thermal Measurements" and "Robotics and Data Fusion" at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Trento. Member of the Industrial Engineering department.
Main areas of interest. Mechanical measurements: development of innovative measurement systems, vision systems for 3D shape estimation, measurement systems for characterization and modeling human motion and human-machine interaction, systems for industrial diagnostics. Mobile robotics: SLAM (Simultaneous Location and Mapping for mobile robots) using lidar, trajectory planning and control of autonomous vehicles AGV. Aerospace systems: development of sensors and mechanisms, definition and coordination of qualification plans, control for non holonomic robot.
Co Investigator of Payload "Optical, Spectroscopic, and Infrared Remote Imaging System" OSIRIS (Rosetta - ESA Cornerstone Mission, launched in February 2003).
Member of the group TEAM LISA (LISA - Cornerstone Mission ESA launch in 2011).
Unit manager of two European research projects VERITAS (EU - FP VII) and AGILE (Eurostars 2008).
Since 2008, member of the "Albo degli esperti in innovazione tecnologica" of the Ministry of Economic Development.
Revisor for the Trento province of industrial innovation and research projects and for PPARC (The UK Strategic Science Investment Agency).
We, as a team, collaborate with Italian and foreign companies for industrial research projects and space applications.
